Patagonia
The Region
Patagonia includes over a third of both Chile and Argentina though it is home to less than 5% of their populations. The region is famous for its spectacular landscape including pristine forests, wild rivers and lakes. Outdoor enthusiasts travel far to fish, kayak and raft in these waters.
Dos Margaritas’ Center For Eco Tourism is located in Northern Patagonia, Chile about 20 kilometers from the frontier of Argentina. Many of its residents are the grandchildren of the pioneers who arrived here to secure this area for Chile. Years later they are witnessing huge changes in their place that is at once so rich in natural treasures and full of promise. Equally Patagonia is challenged by the need to balance opportunistic growth with preservation of the environment and local culture.
